Lakshya- A Movie which won all hearts

A movie which will be remembered!
Lakshya is an Indian Hindi language movie which was released in 2004. It is a war drama film directed by Farhan Akhtar and it stars Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani and so on.
Lakshya is the story of an aimless guy, Karan(played by Hrithik Roshan) who wasn't serious about his future and filled the form of IMA just because one of his friends did that too. He didn't have any strong ambition or motive and was so careless about life. So  when he went into the Academy, came back after few days because it wasn't easy for him to leave that luxurious life his father gave to him and settle down with a life as a soldier. He loves Romila(played by Preity Zinta) and when she knew about the fact that Karan fled away from the academy, she refused Karan's proposal of marriage and told him that he doesn't have any aim in life and thats not cool. Karan and his father don't have good bond between them, his father thinks he is just a loser and he won't be able to be a soldier. These all strikes Karan hardly and then it becomes his Lakshya(Aim) to prove them and be a soldier. Then he becomes a Lieutenant and starts loving his job as a soldier. He comes back to Delhi(his hometown) and he was excited to meet Romila but there he comes to know that she is getting engaged with someone else, this saddens him deeply. Then, he gets a call that his holiday has been cancelled because there's been suspicious terrorist movement in Kargil. So, what will happen now? Will he be able to re create his relationship with Romila? Will the battle in Kargil end well?

This movie is beautiful in many aspects. The life of an army has been shown beautifully and how brave they are and how patriotic they are that they will to give their life for the sake of nation. Being soldier means you have blessings of people all over the country and their trust and this is a big responsibility too.

This is not just a war movie, this movie inspires you and teaches you that everyone should have an aim in life. Without ambition life is worthless. And if your ambition i.e., Lakshya is strong enough then, no one can stop you from achieving the goal you have. The way Karan's personality gets changed after having a strong ambition in life is truely inspiring. His journey from a careless and aimless guy to a man with strong wills and aims is sure gonna inspire you for your future goals.

One of the many points which makes this movie beautiful is the realistic and beautiful love story shared between Karan and Romila. When Romila came to visit Kargil, they were in a village and suddenly bombarding starts from somewhere and then, Karan rushes to help Romila showing that he still loves her and cares about her. With the song 'Kitni Baatein' playing in the background and they look at each other with expressions that they have much to talk to about but that's not happening somehow. Before Karan goes to the mission, Romila comes to see him off. There it seemed that they wanted to hug each other but there was soldiers and people everywhere so they didn't get to do that. That scene was so realistic, there wasn't a Bollywoodish drama in that just some real feelings vibing from that scene and showing how they feel about each other.

The performances of the whole crew is amazing. There's a scene where Karan just points Romila the Point 5179 and Hrithik's expression says it all about his anger for the terrorist up there and grief for his fellow soldiers who died saving in the battle. That single scene is so gorgeous and there's a lot of scenes like this in the movie.

And Farhan's direction is just awesome. Every scene, every frame has a story to deliver.
Overall, this movie is a must watch!!!
