Samsung set to launch over 20 Smart TVs next week starting from ₹ 20,000/-

After launching a bouquet of premium and ultra-premium TVs in India, Samsung is geared up to unveil over 20 new models of Smart TVs next week, with price starting from Rs 20,000. The new Smart TV range that goes up to Rs 2.4 lakh, includes Ultra-HD models that offer breath-taking picture quality and an impeccable design.

With these new models, Samsung will offer 50 new Smart TV models this summer in the country, including the recently launched The Serif and QLED 8K TVs. The new Smart TV range will offer features such as personal computer (PC) mode, home Cloud, music player and live cast, among others, thus making multi-tasking easier.


The new models will offer consumers option to choose from a wide range of OTT platforms such as Amazon Prime, Netflix, ZEE5, SonyLIV and Voot. Samsung this week launched a new portfolio of 2020 lifestyle televisions, The Serif and the 2020 QLED 8K TV line, with premium features in India.

Samsung's new range of high-end QLED 8K TVs will be priced at Rs 4.99 lakh for the 65-inch version, Rs 9.99 lakh for the 75-inch version, Rs 14.29 lakh for the 82-inch version and Rs 15.79 lakh for the 85-inch version.

IIT-Gandhinagar team develops AI-based tool to detect COVID-19 using chest X-rays

Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar have developed an Artificial Intelligence-based(AI) deep learning tool for detection of COVID-19 from chest X-ray images. The online tool, which indicates the probability if a person is infected with COVID-19, can be used for quick preliminary diagnosis before the medical test. It is being tested by the Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH) . The IIT researchers pooled the data of X-ray images of COVID-19 infected patients as well as healthy persons from different sources available on the internet.They trained a machine learning architecture using deep learning algorithms with these images. Krishna Prasad Miyapuram, the associate professor of cognitive science and computer science, who supervised the IIT project claimed that the tool outperforms other such high-tech devices available globally.
