COVID Vaccine by Russian Company, already conducted a "safe" clinical trial

Russian Defence Ministry on July 15 said that it had successfully conducted a 'safe' clinical trial of the coronavirus vaccine that it had developed together with the National research center for epidemiology and microbiology.


According to the ministry's official website, the clinical trials were successfully conducted on a group of 18 volunteers, who were discharged today from the branch of the Main Military Clinical Hospital named after Burdenko. The volunteers underwent a control examination and passed a blood test to study the development of an immune response before they were discharged.

The test participants will have to report back to the hospital on the 42nd day of the first vaccination, where they will undergo a final medical examination and diagnosis for one day and necessary documents will be prepared. However, the ministry in its release did not talk about the effectiveness of the vaccine.

IIT-Gandhinagar team develops AI-based tool to detect COVID-19 using chest X-rays

Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar have developed an Artificial Intelligence-based(AI) deep learning tool for detection of COVID-19 from chest X-ray images. The online tool, which indicates the probability if a person is infected with COVID-19, can be used for quick preliminary diagnosis before the medical test. It is being tested by the Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH) . The IIT researchers pooled the data of X-ray images of COVID-19 infected patients as well as healthy persons from different sources available on the internet.They trained a machine learning architecture using deep learning algorithms with these images. Krishna Prasad Miyapuram, the associate professor of cognitive science and computer science, who supervised the IIT project claimed that the tool outperforms other such high-tech devices available globally.
