BCCI will assemble a meeting to review IPL sponsorship details.

After 20 Indian soldiers were killed during a clash with the Chinese troops,the Indians decided to boycott the Chinese products.   

 
          
Vivo,a chinese smartphone manufacturer has made  a 440 crore Rs deal with IPL for 5 years,since 2018.So BCCI has assembled a meeting this week to review about the sponsors.Apart from Vivo,there were few more Chinese companies involved in IPL,namely paytm and Alibaba.

BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal had told PTI that if government decides to boycott the Chinese products,then they will stand and support the government. He also told that India is not supporting them by investing rather the Chinese companies are investing in IPL which   also helps in boosting the Indian economy as 42 percent goes to the Government as tax.

Atlast Dhumal said that Chinese companies sponsoring events like IPL will only serve his country's interest.

IIT-Gandhinagar team develops AI-based tool to detect COVID-19 using chest X-rays

Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar have developed an Artificial Intelligence-based(AI) deep learning tool for detection of COVID-19 from chest X-ray images. The online tool, which indicates the probability if a person is infected with COVID-19, can be used for quick preliminary diagnosis before the medical test. It is being tested by the Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH) . The IIT researchers pooled the data of X-ray images of COVID-19 infected patients as well as healthy persons from different sources available on the internet.They trained a machine learning architecture using deep learning algorithms with these images. Krishna Prasad Miyapuram, the associate professor of cognitive science and computer science, who supervised the IIT project claimed that the tool outperforms other such high-tech devices available globally.
