After COVID-19,another virus might spread from China,which is even more dangerous.

Scientist at Chinese Universities and China's Center for Disease Control and Prevention said that a new swine flu virus named G4,is
genetically descended from the H1N1 strain,have the potential to spread another pandemic.Earlier this virus had caused a pandemic in 2009.


It has been found that the Chinese pigs are getting infected with a strain of influenza,which can spread to humans,could mutate further and spread simply from one person to another.The G4 variant is threatening to us as its core is an avian influenza virus with bits of mammalian strains mixed in,to which humans have no immunity.

Researchers took 30,000 nasal swabs from pigs in slaughter house in 10 Chinese provinces and in a veterinary hospital,from 2011 to 2018,allowing them to isolate 178 swine flu viruses.

Researchers experimented on Ferrets as they have similar symptoms like fever,coughing and sneezing,similar to humans.10.4℅ of Swine workers had already been infected and 4.4℅ of the general population have been exposed.

The main worry for the Scientists is that the virus has passed from animals to humans but there is no evidence that it can get passed from humans to humans.

IIT-Gandhinagar team develops AI-based tool to detect COVID-19 using chest X-rays

Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar have developed an Artificial Intelligence-based(AI) deep learning tool for detection of COVID-19 from chest X-ray images. The online tool, which indicates the probability if a person is infected with COVID-19, can be used for quick preliminary diagnosis before the medical test. It is being tested by the Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH) . The IIT researchers pooled the data of X-ray images of COVID-19 infected patients as well as healthy persons from different sources available on the internet.They trained a machine learning architecture using deep learning algorithms with these images. Krishna Prasad Miyapuram, the associate professor of cognitive science and computer science, who supervised the IIT project claimed that the tool outperforms other such high-tech devices available globally.
